Gavin McInnes is a Canadian writer, far-right political commentator, and comedian. He is the co-founder of Vice Media and Vice Magazine and host of Get Off My Lawn, formerly on Conservative Review Television.

Gavin McInnes, the founder of the far-right Proud Boys group, has reportedly been denied a visa to enter Australia. McInnes had planned to travel to Australia for an already twice-postponed speaking tour with fellow far-right figures Milo Yiannopolous and Tommy Robinson. The planned visit had been opposed by a #BanGavin campaign, led by the lawyer and writer Nyadol Nyuon.

Gavin McInnes, the founder of the far-right Proud Boys group, is bailing on the organization after leaked Washington state law enforcement documents indicated the FBI considers it an “extremist group with ties to white nationalism.” McInnes claimed that the Proud Boys were just “Western Chauvinists who refuse to apologize for creating the modern world” and nothing more. He claimed that he had been described as a white nationalist because “demand for racists doesn’t meet the supply so” the media has “to fabricate them out of thin air”. McInnes frequently asserts that the Proud Boys are nonviolent. For example, McInnes wrote that “We don’t start fights but we will finish them.
